Dr. Baker is a native of Rochester, Minnesota.  After receiving a BS in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he completed Medical School at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis.  Pediatric residency took him to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He then practiced General Pediatrics in White Bear Lake, MN for two years before starting a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at The Children's Hospital in Boston/Harvard Medical School.  Following Chief Fellowship and an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship there, he joined the Children's Heart Clinic in July 2000.

Dr. Baker is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology Congenital Heart Disease and Pediatric Cardiology Section. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics of the University of Minnesota Medical School.  Dr Baker serves as the Medical Director of Cardiology for Children's Hospitals and Clinics and is a member of several hospital committees.  Special clinical interests include transcatheter diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, cardiac intensive care as well as all aspects of general pediatric cardiology.

Dr. Baker his wife and his two children live in suburban St Paul.
