| Innocent Murmur | A soft, extra sound heard over the heart or chest which is not due to any abnormality of the heart. Common in many normal children with no heart defect. |
| Insufficiency | backward leakage, usually applied to a valve. |
| Isoproterenol | A drug that can be used as a cardiac stimulant to treat an abnormally slow heartbeat and to increase the strength of the heart's pumping. |
